Creating your own environment simply means building a personal space in which you feel comfortable, happy and productive. To further explain how to do that, here are some suggestions to guide you:

Surround yourself with like-minded people

I have learned to create my own pleasing environment by surrounding myself with positive, like-minded people. I have no time to spare for drama and negativity because life is too short to be wasted on such insignificant things. I only desire to live a life overflowing with abundance and peace. I have mastered the art of teaching people how to treat me. There is a subtle, kind and gentle way to command respect.

In life we experience the good and beautiful, the bad and ugly through the different people we meet. Some people you encounter are for a “season, reason, or lifetime.” However, sometimes we try to keep people that do not contribute in our lives – those who are full of anger, grief, and resentment. These people have no idea how to treat good people. While I have created my own environment based on positivity, I also have a clear understanding that these negative people could thrive off my positive energy.

One of the reasons our lives become so complicated is that we entertain people who don’t complement our desires and values. It took me quite a long time to realize that I really don’t need to settle on whoever just happens to be in my life. Instead, I can select the people I want in my life, people of the same wavelength – and that I need to choose cleverly. In fact, all of my friends, clients, and colleagues are people that I like, trust and respect and are in my life because I choose for it to be so.

Categorize people in your life

I have placed the people around me into 4 categories: core, inner circle, outer circle and outer space.

The core people are your closest friends, family, and spouse. These are the people who tell you positive things and won’t hesitate to speak the truth as well. They are the ones who dream with you and give you encouragement even if you feel like giving up. They also celebrate with you during special moments in your life, and at the same time stay with you during tough times. They are available whenever you need them, no matter what time or day it is, just as you are there for them.

I also have an inner circle. I love these people and they are dear to me, but I don’t consider them as my core. They are the people who are ready to support you to a certain extent. Now, do we love them any less? Absolutely not! These people will still be there for you when you need them.

The outer circle consists of a broader group which includes your business associates and other acquaintances. They add less value to your life than the two former groups, but you give more value to their lives and breathe life into it.

Finally you have the outer space. These people should be avoided at all costs, and should not be allowed into your life. You may love the person tremendously, but they are selfish. Within this group you find people who are abusive partners, some who enjoy gossiping and people who are furious friends. Stay away from this group of people because they will bring you a great amount of pain and sorrow, and if your life becomes intertwined with theirs they will forever prevent you from being able to discover the amazing you.

It may be helpful to think of life as a play, someone writes the script, someone directs the actors, and someone plays the starring role. Thinking of your life, put names to each of these: scriptwriter, director, and star. Did you put your name down three times? To feel fully alive and have a chance at a fulfilling and satisfying life, we must recognize that we are all three; scriptwriter, director, and star. We are living the life we scripted even if we took on the script of someone else’s life. It was still our decision to do so.

Write the next chapter of your life. Describe the star of your story in great detail. The star is you. How do you feel? What do you do? Who are you with? Does this new story excite you? Does it feel more like the real you? Don’t answer these questions with your head; your heart will tell you the truth. You’ll know deep inside if what you’ve written is the right path for you. It may be scary to think about, but if it feels right then it is right.

Change is hard, and it can be frightening, but dreams do come true.

Scientists know that people who visualize their goals in great detail and with strong emotion generally achieve those goals. You, too, can change your life. Even though it will take some time, energy, and courage to change, taking control of your life can be very satisfying in itself. Just knowing that you are in charge, responsible and accountable for your life can bring new satisfaction and fulfillment to each day. Life’s difficulties and challenges can become more manageable, seen more as temporary obstacles than permanent blocks.

We remain alive and secure only to the degree they continue to provide for our needs. Later, our parents teach us the rules of childhood living–the do’s and don’ts of every aspect of life in their home.

Are you living the life of your dreams or the life someone else has dreamed for you? Or perhaps you feel that life happens to you, that you are the recipient, with your only control being your ability to choose how to react.

Stand in front of a mirror. What do you see? Do you like the reflection staring back at you? Do you ever notice that most of us are quick to recognize the speck in our brother’s eye yet uncomfortable to look at ourselves?

Before taking a single step, we must always examine ourselves. Carefully check your motives and intentions in terms of how you treat people. Are you seeking something in return or are you showing genuine love and kindness? Learn by heart that LOVE is the greatest commandment of all – and will take you far in this journey called LIFE.

How can you generate happiness? How do you remove the barriers to have a happier more balanced life? When you say, I want to be happy. What does that mean? How can your world give you something unless you define it?

Think about all the things you wish to change about your life. How do you neutralize the bad things? How can you draw in more of the positive life force giving things? Are you still looking for peace of mind?

Emotions flow, thoughts flow, your life flows. When we learn how to adjust the flow we can use what is a natural process to enhance our lives and the lives of many others. Emotions are crucial to ones well being. You need a friend, family member or a partner to vent your emotions. The quality time spent with your family also arouses your emotions. You can do a lot of things with your family like dine together, watch television together, have long binding and quality talks anything and everything under the sun and all this eases stress, rejuvenates confidence, formulate a better you, leading your path to a healthy life and self empowerment.

Stress puts a negative effect on our bodies. Once we learn how to eliminate stress at the source then we have more energy for our own health. There are many resources for stress management. So, practice self-love and positive affirmations. Love begins within you. When you begin to picture yourself as beautiful, everything else follows. People will start to see you in a whole new light, since you radiate so much optimism. Like attracts like – it’s contagious.

For me an abundant life is an Empowered Spiritual life. Co-Creating, on purpose, a life filled with happiness and joy, peace and prosperity; a life where your deepest desires are in reality. But, what does thinking have to do with it? Mental activity ~ the random thoughts that clutter our minds as we unconsciously make our way through our day is not true “thinking”.

How many times have you heard your parent ask you, “WHAT were you thinking?” Problem with that question ~ there is no answer…you were NOT thinking, you were on auto-pilot.

The type of “thinking” that builds an abundant empowered life is intentional thought – focusing on your deepest desires. Why don’t you focus on what you REALLY want all the time?

The deeply held unconscious beliefs by you builds archetypes and patterns that lead to habits that create circumstances in your life that are not pleasing to you. Then, when you complain about it – you just create more of it. Yuck!
